Young Celtic player Mitchel Frame was pictured this week receiving one-on-one time with manager Brendan Rodgers during first-team practice at Lennoxtown.

The 17-year-old, who plays left back most of the time but can also go forward, was spotted on Friday by picture agency SNS chatting with the Bhoys manager.

Although it’s normal for young players to train with the senior squad, this is another evidence that Frame is developing well with the Hoops.

With 17 appearances in all competitions this season, Frame has established himself as a mainstay in the Celtic B team. The coaching staff in the setup has a high opinion of him.

Three English Premier League teams, including Newcastle United, reportedly expressed interest in moving Frame back in May.

But Celtic was able to turn them down and last month he signed a new three-year contract that will keep him with the Bhoys until the summer of 2026.

The defender, who has already made two appearances for the Scotland U19 team, is also making good progress on the international scene.

Frame has previously been in contact with the Celtic first team. When Rodgers initially started practicing for the next season this summer, he was one of the young players in the group.

He’s not the only left-back at the Bhoys who has a promising future. Two years older at 19 years old, Matthew Anderson is also highly rated by the Celtic staff. This season, he was sent on a development loan to Admira Wacker, an Austrian team, and has already made eight appearances.
