Rangers ace Todd Cantwell is expected to cause “serious problems” in the Rangers vs. Hearts match.

Journalist Matthew Fulton of the Daily Record claims that Todd Cantwell can cause “serious problems” for the Hearts.

On Sunday, November 5, at Hampden Park, Philippe Clement’s team plays the Edinburgh team in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

This season, Cantwell has made 12 appearances across all competitions, missing a few due to a knee injury.

Fulton wrote for the Daily Record on November 3, “Todd Cantwell will be key to success if Clement is to keep his Rangers train rolling on.”

“The former Norwich City player can cause Hearts serious problems this weekend. He wants to add silverware to his arsenal and is trophy-less from his first season in Glasgow.”

Under Clement, Cantwell has shown a great deal of promise thus far, gradually returning to full fitness.

When he was sidelined due to a knee injury, the former Norwich City player was much missed by the Gers; previous boss Michael Beale especially lamented his loss.

Poor recruitment and a dismal run of results early in the season cost the manager his job at Ibrox, but if he had been allowed to use Cantwell for a few crucial games, things could have turned out differently.

However, everyone at Ibrox has moved on from that time, and Clement now has a fantastic chance to guarantee a cup final position with his new team.

Cantwell and his colleagues should be optimistic that they can overcome the Edinburgh club at Hampden despite Steven Naismith’s Hearts standing in their way as they seek retribution for their most recent loss to the Gers.
