All of the latest Newcastle United transfer headlines including reports on Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi

Kroos claim

Throughout his 12 appearances this season, Toni Kroos has found himself relegated to the bench at Real Madrid. The World Cup winner is expected to become a free agent this summer, and according to the Daily Star, the Premier League’s top players are showing interest in the 33-year-old.

Identifying Chelsea and Newcastle as two teams ‘informed of the issue’ surrounding Kroos, the report continues. Before putting up his boots, the Germany international is reportedly “keen” on looking into moving elsewhere.

Sandro Tonali’s 10-month suspension means that Eddie Howe will undoubtedly be considering midfield additions, as the summer signing will be unavailable. Beginning in January, Kroos will have unrestricted access to negotiate with teams outside of Spain.

Guehi chase

Jamaal Lascelles, who had trouble getting into games the previous season, has performed well in his recent stint in the starting lineup. In recent months, the Magpies have been connected to several central defenders, notably Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.

The latter, who is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, entered as a substitute in England’s triumph over Italy in their qualifying match earlier this month, securing their spot in Euro 2024. Arsenal is ‘in the pursuit’ for Guehi, but they’re not ready to go into a bidding war for the 23-year-old, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Another possible destination mentioned has been Manchester City, where Palace is expected to seek a “big fee” for the defender. Newcastle’s ability to make a serious offer could be restricted by Financial Fair Play, given that Chelsea and Manchester United are also connected.
