When Rangers play Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, at least four players will be absent, including Kemar Roofe, who may have begun his final game at Ibrox, according to Philippe Clement’s report.

During the official club Twitter on October 27, the Gers manager said during his pre-match press conference that Tom Lawrence, Dujon Sterling, and Kyle Roofe will not be playing on Sunday, October 29 at Ibrox.

Borna Barisic, who was sidelined against Hibs last weekend and missed the Europa League draw at Sparta Prague, is also doubtful for Sunday, October 29, when the Jambos arrive. However, Jose Cifuentes is expected to resume training.

With just one goal in his six Scottish Premiership appearances thus far this season, Roofe’s performance has been fairly disappointing. This offensive recurring theme eventually lost Beale his job.

Speaking about the 30-year-old before the Hearts game, Clement seemed dissatisfied with his circumstances, and it seems likely that Rangers supporters won’t see Roofe for some time yet again based on his remarks.

“Kemar [Roofe] will not be available for the weekend. We need to look closely at how he is doing and how we can bring him back in the long run,” he stated.

The fact that Clement uses the term “long-term” implies that Roofe’s most recent injury setback will likely not be resolved quickly, which is unfortunate for Roofe’s prospects going forward under the Belgian coach, who will be trying to figure out a reliable formula for his new club in the coming days and weeks.

The 30-year-old’s underlying statistics are also unappealing to read, and they might indicate that Clement will bench him for Saturday’s pivotal match.

According to SofaScore, Roofe hasn’t even missed a significant opportunity this season, indicating that he has turned into an ineffectual presence in front of goal. He has only managed to muster a dismal 0.2 shots on target and 0.7 shots per game thus far this season, falling short of expectations.

As a matter of fact, during his most recent start on October 8 against St Mirren, he completed only two passes in his 61 minutes on the field, scarcely touched the ball during the game, and failed to register a single shot on goal or off target.

Roofe doesn’t seem to be the man to spearhead the assault in the upcoming weeks, considering his dismal statistics, and if Clement wants this Rangers team to be playing at its best again, they will need to start scoring goals.

It is possible that his most recent start versus St. Mirren will be his final one for some time.
