The 30-year-old has an Ibrox Giants deal that expires in 2027.

Rangers may sell Jack Butland in January if the team receives an offer of “silly” money for the goalie.

Andy Walker, a former Celtic striker, believes that his old adversaries’ will would be put to the test. Despite the club’s turbulent start to the season, Butland, who joined Rangers on a free transfer in the summer, has been among the finest players for the team. Birmingham City, an English Championship team, apparently took notice of his play in goal and gave the goalkeeper his professional debut in 2010.

Butland is reportedly ready to wait until next summer to make a move, according to reports citing Wayne Rooney, the newly appointed Birmingham manager, who is eager to bring Butland aboard.

Walker intervened and said, “It would be interesting if it was a ridiculous bid now because Rangers do really poor business in terms of transfers,” in response to co-pundit Mark Guidi of The Go Radio Football Show stating that it would send the wrong message if Rangers were to sell one of their strongest assets halfway through the season.

Would they accept it if it was stupid money now? Why did they condemn him? Since they received him for free and he is paid well, you never know—you might accept a ridiculous offer for him.”
