The debate between VAR officials and the referee from some of the major decisions in the Premier League so far this season will be heard by the supporters of Aston Villa and Wolves.

According to ESPN, ‘Match Officials: Mic’d Up’, a program on referee chief Howard Webb, will air on Wednesday night. In it, Webb will go over some of the occurrences from this season and explain his reasoning. There will also be audio of the exchange between the referee and the official in Stockley Park.

International rights holders will have access to the program before it airs on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Sky Sports and 8.30 p.m. on TNT Sports. It follows the May trial of a show with comparable content.

The 26-minute program will reflect on some of the greatest events of the season and will include former Premier League striker turned pundit Michael Owen. Although it is unknown which incidents will be highlighted.

The decision not to give Wolves a penalty when Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana seemed to foul striker Sasa Kalajdzic in the waning seconds of the 1-0 loss to the Red Devils on the opening weekend of the season has been one of the season’s greatest talking points thus far. In Villa’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool this past weekend, there was some controversy as well because a VAR review determined that Mohamed Salah was not offside for Dominik Szoboszlai’s first goal.

It remains to be seen if the show will continue to air regularly throughout the season. To offer fans a better understanding of how judgments are made, Webb has agreed to release the VAR audio on a monthly basis this season.
