Chris Wood talks his lack of playing time in the Premier League thus far this season in the most recent Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive.

Chris Wood has vowed to “keep working hard” in an effort to crack the starting lineup for Nottingham Forest.

The 31-year-old striker has only made one Premier League start for the Reds so far this season, coming on in place of an injured Taiwo Awoniyi in their most recent match against Crystal Palace. Additionally, he has made seven substitute appearances and scored the game-winning goal at the City Ground in August against Sheffield United.

Following his departure from Newcastle United, Wood acknowledges that he needs more playing time. Awoniyi has earned his spot on the team, and he has made it obvious he trusts manager Steve Cooper’s judgment.

I personally would like to be playing more, but I’ll simply keep putting in the effort to make that team again, he stated. I’ll continue to work hard in training to push T (Awoniyi), who lately had the starting position and justifiably so given how well he is performing.

“I hope he feels the same way about me. We all appreciate the manager’s choice and are rooting for one another to succeed, so there are no hard feelings over who starts and who enters the game. We also have other players who can play up front, including Divock (Origi), who is also expecting to see some action,” he continued. We all want to be playing together, but we are aware that sometimes we need to wait for our chance.
