The French defender Jean-Clair Todibo is a target for Newcastle United.

According to a report from Fichajes, the 23-year-old’s performance for Ligue 1 team Nice has caught the Premier League club’s attention.

Todibo has made a name for himself as a dependable defender in the French league, and Newcastle may find him to be a wise long-term investment. To accompany Sven Botman, the Magpies are attempting to sign a top center defender. Newcastle needs to make plans for the future because players like Fabian Schar and Dan Burn are in their 30s.

It is uncertain whether Newcastle will be able to close the deal, but Todibo would be the perfect defensive partner for the Dutch international.

They did well to assemble a talented team in recent transfer windows, adding players of note in Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Alexander Isak. They would add Todibo to their quality acquisitions.

Newcastle is now a UEFA Champions League participant, and they require an improved team to succeed in Europe.

Being one of the richest clubs in the world, they have the resources to afford to sign the top players.

Todibo might be persuaded to go up to the Premier League, so it will be interesting to watch whether Newcastle decides to make an approach for him in the upcoming months.

Newcastle is eager to make an effort to recruit the defender, who is under contract with Nice through the summer of 2027.
