Castore has offered Aston Villa a remedy to their wet-look kit controversy following Alisha Lehmann’s wardrobe disaster.

A solution to Aston Villa’s wet-look kit controversy has been proposed.

The Castore design, which failed to absorb sweat, soaked the men’s Premier League squad and the WSL team, including Alisha Lehmann. It has since been revealed that the source of the problem has been found, and a solution is in the works.

One option is to send the club a completely new batch of kits with minor changes to the impacted region – or to collect the current batch and make the necessary changes.

Castore discovered the source of the problem after players complained about the moisture affecting their performance.

According to them, industry insiders believe the problem is due to a ‘imbalance’ generated by the sponsor logo rather than the fabric.

Villa and Castore discussed terminating their deal at the end of the season, when the Manchester-based firm will take over kit duties at Everton.

Carla Ward, manager of Aston Villa Women, remarked ahead of a recent match: “It’s up to the football club’s legal team and Castore to discuss and deal with that.”

“As difficult as it is, I’ve tried to completely ignore it.” The football club has complete control over this.

“They’ve been excellent with us, myself and the players around it.”

Lehmann was one of the players impacted by the wet appearance, which was noticed by spectators during a match against Manchester United.

The 24-year-old, who has 16 million Instagram followers, has become as a star both on and off the field in recent seasons.

In addition to her efforts in the WSL, the Switzerland international has released her own calendar for 2024.
