Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe is allegedly a transfer target for a number of Premier League clubs.

Rowe had always been expected to be one of the top academy graduates at Carrow Road for many years, but his path into the senior ranks has been hampered. However, the 20-year-old is finally starting to live up to his promise, emerging as one of the Canaries’ top performers in the Championship this season.

Six goals and one assist have come from his 11 games in the second division, with a further strike and assist coming from two EFL Cup appearances. With Norwich currently eighth in the standings during the international break, there is optimism that Rowe can lead his club back to the Premier League.

Nonetheless, TEAMtalk reports that the East Anglian club is fighting to keep him, with a number of top-flight clubs keeping an eye on his progress. According to the article, Aston Villa are among Rowe’s admirers as they consider potential attacking reinforcements at the halfway stage of the season.

Unai Emery is currently pleased with his choices in the final third, but that might change if Villa maintains their lead in the Europa League. Crystal Palace, Brentford, Burnley, and Sheffield United are reportedly said to be considering testing Norwich’s determination in the pursuit of their prized asset.

As things stand, Norwich officials are expected to reject any proposals that come their way during the January window. However, with Rowe’s contract expiring at the end of the 2024-25 season, they may soon find themselves in a dangerous position.

Norwich is reportedly eager to lock down Rowe to a longer contract and wants to begin talks on a renewal as soon as possible. Rowe has only made 31 first-team appearances for Norwich City, 13 of which came as a substitute in the Premier League after the club was demoted in 2021-22.

Rowe has been called up by England Under-21s manager Lee Carsley for the upcoming matches against Serbia and Ukraine.
