Police issued a warning to residents after a rise in reports of thefts from vehicles in Chadderton.

GMP Chadderton issued the warning to residents with a post on social media this afternoon (October 10).

They said there is a rise in reports of thefts from vehicles, as well as in reports of vehicle interference, an offence involving interfering with a vehicle in an attempt to to steal it or anything in it.

They advised on what to do to avoid becoming a victim.

The post on social media said: “We are receiving reports of theft from vehicle and vehicle interference in the North Chadderton area in particular.

“Please remember to lock your vehicle and to remove all items from display.”
