Kieran Trippier will be Newcastle United’s sole representative when England face Australia at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.

Gareth Southgate only picked one Newcastle player for the upcoming internationals, despite multiple Englishmen thriving for the Magpies.

The likes of Nick Pope, Sean Longstaff, Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn were all ignored by England, meaning Trippier is the only Toon player who is with the Three Lions right now.

The 33-year-old will hope to represent his country at Wembley on Friday, where England take on the Socceroos in a friendly.

This game would have been a chance for Trippier to meet one of his unseen Newcastle United teammates, but sadly that will not happen.

Garang Kuol will not be involved in England vs Australia on Friday night

That is because Garang Kuol has not been named in the Australia squad by Graham Arnold.

The 19-year-old already has five caps for his country, but will not be adding to that tally during the upcoming internationals. Australia first face England, then they are up against New Zealand.

Kuol will not play in either game, having been snubbed by Arnold. That is despite the fact that the teenager is now playing regularly in the Netherlands.

He joined Volendam on loan during the summer, and has so far made six appearances for his new club. While Volendam are not playing brilliantly, Kuol is getting regular minutes, scoring once and providing one assist.

The youngster will now focus on his club form, rather than turn his attention to the international stage.

It is such a shame that he won’t be at Wembley on Friday, as it would have been great for him to meet Trippier. The pair will become teammates in the future, when Eddie Howe decides that Kuol is ready for the Newcastle first-team.

He has not played for the Magpies at any level since his £600,000 move to Tyneside earlier this year, but the club have massively high hopes for him.

When Kuol does eventually spend some time with the Newcastle team, Trippier will make sure that the Aussie feels welcome and settles in. That is why it is such a shame that they will not cross paths on Friday.
