Ray Houghton raved about Nottingham Forest starlet Murillo on Saturday during the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace. The Brazilian was in fine form as the Reds claimed a decent point on their travels.

Murillo made his Forest debut against Brentford and is a left-sided central defender. Due to his outstanding performance, Steve Cooper decided to keep him in the lineup on Saturday.

The center defender has Wes Morgan’s physical presence and Franz Beckenbauer’s ball-control confidence! He still has a long way to go before accomplishing what those two did, but his start in England has attracted attention.

Houghton raves about Forest gem Murillo

On Saturday, Houghton was quite impressed with the Forest defender. The person who once represented the Republic of Ireland on the field had a point when he suggested that perhaps he lacked the poise to capitalize on his opportunity.

He did, however, gush about the Forest man. Although he did criticize Murillo’s finish, he claimed that the young player displayed maturity beyond his years by charging forward in the first half.

The shot, he claimed to BBC Radio 5 Live, is the reason Murillo is a center-back! The remainder of the transfer was entirely Brazilian. A few Palace players were duped by his skill with the ball and the way he transferred it from one foot to the other.

Then, just as you were waiting for him to possess the ability and poise necessary to place the ball into the corner, he hits it right in the middle! almost one of the season’s goals.

Murillo will learn from experiences so far

The Forest scouting network, which is now keeping an eye on players in South America, believes that Murillo is a genuine find. Even though he lacks much senior experience, the City Ground has been a great place for him to start.

From a Forest perspective, the player currently appears to be undroppable. There is undoubtedly still more to come from the defender, and the head coach will hope that Murillo can maintain his positive attitude on the field.
