Just don’t hurt each other since £72 million is at stake. Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez of West Ham United ready to butt heads following international call-ups.

Following the international break last month, the season was just getting started when it was announced that there would be another break over the next two weeks.

Top players typically receive the highest honor of representing their nation, and West Ham undoubtedly has numerous of those. Following Sunday’s match against Newcastle United, West Ham’s key players plan to fly all over the world.

In order to represent Mexico in two games in the USA last month, Edson Alvarez, a £34 million summer signing, had to travel a distance of 10,000 miles roundtrip. When Alvarez joined for West Ham in a £38 million move in the summer, he was reunited with his former Ajax colleague Mohammed Kudus. But the Hammers’ midfield duo will soon face off.

Former Hammers player and current Ghana manager Chris Hughton has called up Black Stars talisman Kudus for games against Mexico and the United States. Just don’t hurt each other as £72m is at stake. Kudus and Alvarez of West Ham ready to butt heads following international call-ups.

When Mexico plays Ghana in a friendly match at the Bank of America Stadium next week, West Ham manager David Moyes will be crossing his fingers.

In the absence of an injury, important Mexico star Alvarez will also join the Mexico squad for the encounter. If the defender gets called up, he may face Hammers teammate Thilo Kehrer when Mexico plays Germany.

However, Alvarez will most certainly be tasked with marking his West Ham teammate Kudus in the Mexico vs. Ghana match. And there are no half measures when you play for proud and passionate football nations like Mexico and Ghana.

It may be a friendly competition, but it will surely be intense. Moyes will surely want to catch his West Ham players in action for their respective nationalities on television. And he’ll be cringing every time El Machin takes on a task with special talent Kudus.
