It looks like Newcastle United will be without a host of key players for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with PSG at St James’ Park.

The Telegraph report that Callum Wilson, Joelinton and Sven Botman have all been ruled out of the match, joining Harvey Barnes (toe) and Joe Willock (Achilles) on the sidelines.

Botman and Wilson both failed fitness tests ahead of last weekend’s 2-0 win over Burnley. The Dutchman has a knee injury that’s likely to keep him out until after the international break, while Wilson has a tight hamstring that seemingly won’t be risked on Wednesday.

Joelinton had been suffering with a knee injury, but made his comeback against Man City and came on in the second half of Saturday’s win over Burnley. However, just minutes after his introduction, the Brazilian pulled up with a hamstring injury.

The extent of that hamstring problem isn’t clear – Howe doesn’t think it’s serious – but The Telegraph believe it’s enough to rule him out of the PSG game.

As a result, we’ll have Jamaal Lascelles at the back, one of Elliot Anderson or Sandro Tonali joining Bruno and Longstaff in midfield, along with Alexander Isak up top again in Wilson’s absence.
