Jesse Lingard reacts after transfer news coming out of Tottenham yesterday

Brennan Johnson joined Tottenham Hotspur from Nottingham Forest yesterday, and Jesse Lingard wished him luck on Instagram.

Didn’t the Spurs finish the window in style? Yes, they couldn’t get everything done, but Ange Postecoglou should be very satisfied with the results his team achieved.

Johnson’s arrival last night was the icing on the cake.

Jesse Lingard has sent a message to new Tottenham Hotspur player Brennan Johnson.
Tottenham had long been interested in Brennan Johnson before making a move to sign him.

Following Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich last month, the North Londoners wanted to improve their attack, and Postecoglou prioritized the Nottingham Forest man.

Spurs began talks with Liverpool a few days ago, but it wasn’t until transfer deadline day that the two teams reached an agreement.

Johnson was pulled out of training yesterday and told to leave for his medical in London. It took a while to complete all the formalities, but Tottenham got there in the end.

The Welshman’s departure to Tottenham marks the end of his 14-year connection with Nottingham Forest. To say goodbye to the Reds, he posted a poignant statement on Instagram.

Both Jesse Lingard and Djed Spence responded to his message.

Lingard commented, “Good luck my bro,” while Spece added, “Legend!”

TBR Opinion: Tottenham fans should be overjoyed with Brennan Johnson’s arrival.

Yes, he’s no Harry Kane, and he’s not here to replace England’s captain, but he’s a tremendous talent who will provide Postecoglou with a plethora of alternatives coming season.

Johnson is quick, can play numerous positions, and has a year of Premier League experience. He’s only 22 years old, therefore he’ll only get better in the next years.

It will be intriguing to watch how Postecoglou uses him for the Spurs this season.
