Chris Sutton, a former star of the top division, lamented the weakness of Everton’s offense and predicted they would fail to score this weekend against Brentford.

The Toffees scored the second-fewest goals in the league last season, and they finished in 17th place to avoid being demoted to the Championship.

To address Everton’s goal-scoring issues, manager Sean Dyche strengthened his team’s attacking ranks this summer by bringing in strikers Beto, Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti, and Jack Harrison.

The Merseyside team, who are scheduled to play the Bees this weekend at the Gtech Community Stadium, has only been able to score twice in their first five league games.

Sutton claimed that even when the Toffees managed to create opportunities for themselves to score goals, they did not take advantage of them.

The veteran striker said he does not anticipate Everton scoring against Brentford and that he thinks the Toffees’ goal-scoring issues won’t be fixed any time soon.

It must be depressing to be an Everton supporter right now, Sutton said on the BBC, as the team hasn’t capitalized on chances they’ve made, as against Fulham and Wolves earlier this season.

Although I want to predict that they will succeed this time, I am unable to.I believe that greater suffering is to come.
Whether Everton can beat Brentford and get their first league victory remains to be seen.
