The ex-Manchester United teenager joined Kenilworth Road in the summer of 2019, making 68 appearances and scoring three goals.
However, he was released two seasons later and joined Portsmouth, where he appeared 69 times and scored three goals.

Tunnicliffe, who was released in the summer, has now signed with Adelaide ahead of the club’s season opener against the Central Coast Mariners next month.

“I’m absolutely over the moon to have signed for United,” he stated on the club’s official website. “It poses a great challenge and change for me after playing in England my entire life.”

“You see more and more of the A-League over in the UK, with plenty of players moving over all the time, so this seems like a natural fit for me, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“Ryan has a wealth of experience in the game with a never-say-die mentality, and we’re really looking forward to his leadership and grit on the park this season,” Adelaide manager Carl Veart said.

“He is the ideal player for United because we believe he will fit the A-League’s mould and physicality perfectly.”

“As someone who has spent the majority of his career in Championship and Premier League changerooms, his football technical ability and professionalism will only benefit the entire squad.”
