Nottingham Forest have a wealth of goalkeepers at the football club but now the club are going to go in search of another one!

The Reds have already signed Carlos Miguel from Corinthians this summer for a fee in the region of £4 million.

Matz Sels returned late from international duty after being granted an extended absence following his Euro 2024 participation with Belgium.

He finished the season as the number one goalkeeper and Forest will likely still see him as the number one just now.

There is also Matt Turner in place at the football club following his £10 million transfer from Arsenal last summer.

Now, Forest are keen to sign another Gunners stopper and Turner is a huge fan of the latest player to be linked with a City Ground move.

Nottingham Forest want Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale

This is one that did the rounds yesterday with Alan Nixon from The Sun claiming Forest wanted to snare Ramsdale.

The Reds wouldn’t be able to afford to sign the goalkeeper outright with the Gunners craving a £50 million transfer fee.

However, he’s going to be available for a loan and it’s thought that Forest are going to offer to fork out most of his £120,000-a-week wage.

Ramsdale is keen to leave the Emirates Stadium in search of regular first-team football having lost his place to David Raya last season.

At 26-years-old, Ramsdale has a number of years on his side and it’s thought that Nuno Espirito Santo would welcome the England player as his number one.

What Matt Turner said about Aaron Ramsdale

Turner was initially signed by Arsenal to act as a backup to Ramsdale and he was the player’s deputy during his time in North London.

It would appear that there is a lot of mutual respect between Turner and Ramsdale and in 2023, the American lauded Ramsdale.

He told Goal: “He’s just eccentric, got little bits of flair in his game, he’s very opposite from me in that sense, on and off the field. He’s weird and crazy but I love him.”

Ironically, Ramsdale could now be the one to shunt Turner out of the door on Trentside.

Clubs are monitoring the USMNT number one and if another goalkeeper signs, it would place Turner at fourth in the pecking order.

As a 30-year-old that simply won’t do and if the Arsenal man does join Forest, Turner will surely be departing this summer.
