Wrexham may have a good opportunity to make a move for a top Championship player from their rivals in Cardiff City’s Ryan Wintle.
According to Wales Online’s Glen Williams, Cardiff have left Wintle out of their travelling squad for their pre-season tour to Austria after being made available for sale.
The 27-year-old has been a top player for the Championship club and was named captain on several occasions last campaign.
With the midfielder looking like he is set for a summer exit, Wrexham should consider making a move to improve Parkinson’s midfield options at the Racecourse.
Ryan Wintle would be a solid addition to the Wrexham midfield
Since the Hollywood takeover, Wrexham have been consistent in their transfer strategy.
Several players like Elliot Lee, James McClean, and Steven Fletcher have had experience playing in higher divisions.
Wintle has strong Championship experience and has been a top player for Welsh rivals Cardiff.
The English midfielder has featured in 128 Championship games and is a leader on the pitch. The former Blackpool man can play as part of a midfield three or as a single six.
He would provide strong competition at Wrexham with Andy Cannon, and George Evans also regularly featuring in Parkinson’s starting XI.
If Wrexham do want to make another midfield addition, they must consider Windle after being put up for sale.
His Championship experience and leadership would make him a strong candidate to be the latest player to drop down to League One and join the exciting project in North Wales.
