According to recent report, Newcastle United are keen on signing one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

The Magpies survived a late scare with Profit and Sustainability regulations last month and are now ready to invest in new additions

Having narrowly missed out on European football last term, the onus will be on Eddie Howe to challenge for the top six.

Though, to do that, he’ll need heavy investment in the window and with that said, Newcastle are keen on signing a Euro 2024 star.

Newcastle want to sign Nico Williams

According to The Athletic, Newcastle United have a long-term interest in Spain’s jet-heeled wide player Nico Williams, who has been labelled ‘world class’.

The 2002-born wide player was on fire in Germany and netted in the final against England, helping Spain to a triumphant 2-1 victory.

Williams’ performances have put Barcelona and Arsenal on red alert, so competition for his signature is rife.

As much as they’d like to sign him, Newcastle recognise a deal is unlikely due to his wage demands which they can’t meet.

That was the same issue with the Michael Olise deal, who opted to join Bayern Munich on a colossal pay packet.

Newcastle have other targets in mind

Aside from Williams, Newcastle are discussing a number of other targets in attacking areas this summer.

Anthony Elanga, Noni Madueke and Jarrod Bowen are all on their shortlist, though, a move for the latter is unlikely.

Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville is another name being mooted, so they aren’t short of options.

Miguel Almiron is in talks to leave the club for Saudi Arabia and if a deal is reached, the search for a winger is expected to intensify.
