Federico Gatti makes transfer decision after West Ham approach

Federico Gatti, the center defender for Juventus, has reportedly spoken with new manager Thiago Motta and declined to sit down and consider offers from Everton, West Ham, and Newcastle.

After speaking with Thiago Motta, the new coach of the Old Lady, Italian defender Gatti turned on the opportunity to join the Premier League this summer.

Tuttosport claims that Everton, West Ham, and Newcastle expressed interest in Gatti; however, the former Frosinone defender never ever had a meeting with any of the Premier League teams.

In actuality, Gatti was informed by new manager Motta of his plans for the upcoming campaign, including the fact that he would be used as a right-back or a center-back.

At Bologna, Motta had used a similar strategy with Austrian international Stefan Posch.

Prior to moving to the Stadio Dall’Ara, the 27-year-old had primarily played center back, but under Motta, he regularly played on the right wing and helped the team qualify for the Champions League for the first time in more than 60 years.

Gatti is about to start his third season of a contract at the Allianz Stadium and has made fifty appearances in Serie A.
