Updates on Jarrad Branthwaite and Mason Greenwood are included in the most recent roundup of Manchester United transfer rumors.

Jarrad Branthwaite is apparently the target of Manchester United’s second bid.

Erik ten Hag is believed to view the defender as his top target this summer, and United is prepared to make another attempt even after Everton rejected their initial £43 million bid. But the England international is valued by the Blues at over £70 million, and they see him as a vital member of Sean Duche’s team.

According to reports, Branthwaite is interested in moving to Old Trafford, but both parties need to reach a consensus. The Liverpool Echo reports that Everton is waiting on a fresh proposal from the Reds.

The amount that United is anticipated to bid this time has not been disclosed, but the Toffees considered their first offer to be “unacceptable,” so any new offer will “provide an indication of how serious” they are about signing Branthwaite.

Although the Toffees’ standing in the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) remains a source of concern, the club’s outlook has improved with the £10 million sale of academy player Lewis Dobbin to Aston Villa, which presumably lessens the need for an impending significant sale.

Elsewhere, the United are said to have rejected a clause proposed for Mason Greenwood. The attacker is set to leave Old Trafford this summer as he approaches the final year of his deal.

After spending last season on loan at Getafe, Greenwood has caught the eye from the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and clubs in Turkey and Spain. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have lodged an opening bid of £17m (€20m).

It is said that Lazio also included a 50 per cent sell-on clause for United, though the offer is thought to have been rejected by the club hierarchy, who are keen to get £30m. The Italian side are looking for a replacement to Felipe Anderson who left upon the expiration of his contract.
