Leeds United are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Adam Hlozek in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 73), the Whites are tracking the 21-year-old striker who could leave the German club this summer.

Leeds failed to secure promotion to the Premier League last season, and as a result, they face a tricky transfer window. The Whites may have to sell one or two players to comply with the EFL’s financial rules, which could dictate their transfer policy going forward.

Patrick Bamford and Joe Piroe remain two top strikers for Leeds, but Daniel Farke could look to add one more quality striker as they fight again to secure an automatic promotion.

Adam Hlozek would be a quality signing for Leeds United

Hlozek is an exciting striker who is representing the Czech Republic senior team at the Euro 2024 Championships in Germany.

He has 32 caps for his country already at such a tender age, which is a testament to his quality.

Xabi Alonso has a wealth of attacking options at Leverkusen, and as a result, Hlozek has struggled to play regularly. He still managed seven goals and five assists in all competitions last season for the German giants.

He is seen as a “cunning” goalscorer and could be available for around £12 million. For a player of his quality, getting him at that price (or even slightly lower than that) could represent a bargain signing, and Leeds must attempt to get his signature.

The Whites could face competition from West Ham who are also looking to sign a new striker. If the Hammers look for options elsewhere, Leeds must get him to Elland Road, as he is a gamble worth taking.

Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, and Wilfried Gnonto have been linked with Elland Road this summer, and should they depart, Leeds will have a huge task filling their voids.
