Leicester City Confirm New Jamie Vardy Contract

Leicester City, the 2023–24 Championship winners, are preparing for a victorious comeback to the Premier League. After accepting a new deal, it now looks that their inspiring forward Jamie Vardy will stay in the team.

What Did Vardy Have To Say On His New Deal?

The 37-year-old forward has agreed to sign a new one-year contract with the Foxes, which will expire at the end of the 2024–2025 campaign. The seasoned striker chose to remain with Leicester and give Premier League defenders another chance to trouble him in the forthcoming season, even though his previous contract was set to expire at the end of the 23–24 campaign.

Vardy expressed his happiness on the official Leicester website after agreeing to a new deal, saying, “I’m delighted to get the numbers that I did [last season], but there’s still more to come.” I take care of myself. Age, as I’ve always maintained, is only a number. I keep playing till my legs tell me it’s over because they feel good. That day is not yet here, but it will come eventually. We’re excited to see what we can do in the Premier League for another season. It is without a doubt the greatest league in the world. That is the ideal location for you to play football.

The 37-year-old striker, who originally signed with Leicester City in 2012, experienced his second Premier League promotion with the team following their Championship title victory at the end of the previous year under Enzo Maresca. Despite the Italian coach’s departure from the Foxes, Vardy is intent on leaving a lasting impression in what may be his last Premier League campaign. In the English top division, he has already made a great deal of memories, particularly for his side’s title-winning campaign in the 2015–16 Premier League.

During the 2015–16 Premier League season, Vardy broke the previous record by scoring in 11 consecutive games. His goal scoring record in the league is fairly good; in 307 Premier League games, he has 45 assists and 136 goals. The 37-year-old scored 20 goals in 37 games to help his team advance, and he was praised for his “amazing” role to the Foxes’ victory in the previous season.
