The Mirror claims that Leicester City is getting ready to make a bid for Sean Longstaff, a midfielder for Newcastle United.

According to the source, the Foxes are willing to spend £15 million to get the 26-year-old, who finished the 2023–24 season with eight goals and two assists in 46 appearances.

According to The Mirror, Leicester has reportedly been pursuing Longstaff for “several months” because they need midfield reinforcements, particularly if Wilfred Ndidi, a Nigerian player who is out of contract, doesn’t sign a new contract this summer.

Longstaff’s club-trained status could enable him to be sold for “pure profit,” which would benefit us monetarily from an FFP/PSR standpoint. Additionally, as his current deal is set to expire in 12 months, this may be our only opportunity to secure a respectable amount.

Eddie Howe, the manager at the time, is obviously a big fan and has frequently stood up for the Geordie, but we have to take any genuine £15 million offer seriously. Ultimately, I would much rather cash in on fascinating prospects like Yankuba Minteh before he has even kicked a ball for the team, than to sell players like Miguel Almiron or Longstaff.
