Tottenham Hotspur are genuinely keen to sign Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Spurs, are interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder who was named in the final England squad for the 2024 European Championship.

Spurs are looking for a major rebuilding process under Ange Postecoglou after narrowly missing out on the Champions League position last season. Bolstering their attacking areas is one of their priorities and Eze has come under consideration.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Eagles forward has a clause in his current deal worth £60 million, plus additional add-ons worth around £8 million will be required to bring him on board.

Tottenham are in the process of offloading unwanted players from the club to make room for new additions. Palace are likely to face a “major fight” to keep him, but Spurs need to pay a lot of money if they are serious about landing him.

Eberechi Eze would be marquee signing for Tottenham

Eze produced an “excellent” performance in England’s friendly against Bosnia that earned him a place in the squad for Euro 2024. He was brilliant last season for the Eagles, although missed a chunk of action due to injury.

He still managed 11 goals and four assists and helped Crystal Palace finish comfortably in the 10th place.

Postecoglou needs midfielders who can score frequently and win matches, and Eze is someone who can bring different qualities to the side. He is a versatile attacking midfielder who is capable of playing across all three positions upfront.

If he enjoys a fine tournament for England, the competition to sign him will increase. It will be interesting to see if Spurs would be willing to pay such a high transfer fee as they need players in other areas as well.
