Enzo Maresca, the manager of Leicester City, will take over at Stamford Bridge this summer, and Chelsea is getting ready for life under a new head coach.

Following the highly contentious choice to fire Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Todd Boehly and the club’s executive leadership set to work finding successors.

Kieran McKenna was one name, but Brighton & Hove Albion had their eye on the Northern Irish boss. It is now anticipated that McKenna would stay longer at Ipswich Town, according to HITC.

Enzo Maresca, the Leicester City manager who led the Foxes back to the Premier League, is currently being pursued by Chelsea. HITC is cognizant that the Argentinean deal is almost finalized.

After playing for both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho during his career, Harry Winks, a former midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, thinks the new Chelsea manager is the greatest he has ever worked with.

The former England international reportedly added, “By far the best manager I’ve worked for, he’s incredible,” according to Football.London. “I believe that everyone will agree that he has everything and is going to succeed.

“He’s a great man manager, he’s tactically incredible, some of the decisions he tells us to do before the game and how you view the matches and it’s something that I’ve never experienced before in football.

“It’s opened my eyes a lot to football and the way it’s played, that kind of Pep Guardiola style as well, who he worked with for a very long time.”

Maresca a big risk for Chelsea

Since Clearlake Capital purchased Chelsea back in 2022, they have seemingly been keen on going with a young and exciting coach, who can grow with the team.

Graham Potter’s spell was a disaster. Pochettino’s spell at Stamford Bridge was certainly a struggle at the start but, towards the end of the Argentine’s spell in West London, he excelled.

If Chelsea are to appoint Maresca, being patient with the 44-year-old, who will be in just his second managerial role, will be key. They have to give the Argentine time to implement his ideas on a young and fearless Chelsea team.
