Rangers are planning a summer move for versatile attacker Adama Traoré of Ferencvaros, but they are in a three-way transfer battle with Fulham of the Premier League and Sturm Graz, the newest Austrian Bundesliga champions.

The 54-time Mali international has become a target for the Glasgow giants. He helped the Budapest club win back-to-back Hungarian titles by scoring 14 goals and dishing out five assists in 26 games during an injury-plagued season.

After his team’s disastrous decline in form over the past month, which led to a Scottish Premiership title loss to fierce rivals Celtic earlier this week, Ibrox manager Philippe Clement intends to shuffle his roster once the season is done.

The 28-year-old winger Traoré is reportedly on the Belgian’s wishlist. He has a contract with Ferencvaros that expires in two years, but the Hungarians are reportedly open to selling this summer or risk losing one of their best players for nothing later on. This information is reported by africafoot.com.

Valued at £3.5million, Traoré began his senior career in DR Congo with TP Mazembe, while also turning out for French Ligue 1 side Metz and having a loan spell in Saudi Arabia with Al-Adalah. But it wasn’t until he joined Moldovan outfit Sheriff Tiraspol that he really started to make a name for himself.

Despite missing 25 games this season due to a series of injury setbacks, Traoré has still proved to be a key figure in the club’s title triumph. His form has caught the eye of Light Blues recruitment chief Nils Koppen, while Fulham have also been credited with an interest – despite already boasting a forward with exactly the same name.

The in-demand wide man plays most of his football predominantly on the right wing. He boasts plenty of first-team experience which Clement is looking to add to his squad and while yet to play in the Champions League, Traoré still has an impressive eight goals to his name in 16 previous qualifying matches.

If he returns to the Amex Stadium once his short-term contract expires, he might be considered as a possible replacement for Brighton loanee Abdallah Sima. This is because there are concerns that Rangers might be priced out of a long-term agreement to sign the Senegalese star.

With an estimated top speed of 34.14 km/h last year, Traoré is likewise endowed with lightning-fast speed. This is not far behind PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe, who had a time of 35 km/h.

The right flank has been a trouble spot for the Gers lately, with more expectations put on the shoulders of rookie Ross McCausland to play the position. This season, Scott Wright has shown inconsistent play, therefore a summer raid for Traoré seems very likely.
