Michael Olise, a Manchester United target, is the subject of a Crystal Palace social media gaffe, as reported by Alex Browne. May 18, 2024

Michael Olise, a target for Manchester United, is at the center of an odd error made by the Crystal Palace social media team.

The player’s season has been extremely impressive once again, although marred by persistent injury issues.

This season, in 18 Premier League games, he has produced five assists and ten goals. He recently scored a brace and toyed with the struggling United defense in Palace’s 4-0 thumping of the home team at Selhurst Park.

Many believe Olise might be the ideal solution to United’s creative problems this season, as the team has severely failed to find inspiration outside of Bruno Fernandes.

The French winger is the lone target INEOS has given the club the all-clear to pursue this summer, according to numerous reports that Manchester United is very interested in him.

The 22-year-old is reportedly eager to relocate as well, since he was an avid United supporter growing up.

However, there will be fierce competition for the player’s services, with Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa all rumored to be interested in signing him.

Since the Villains have already guaranteed their spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season, they could be particularly dangerous.

Oliver Glasner, the manager of Palace, is rumored to desire to keep Olise with the team through the summer, but it’s possible that a social media blunder has already revealed the London team’s actual motivations.

Man United are 'actively working' behind the scenes to sign Michael Olise

The Daily Express notes that “the official Palace account posted a picture of Olise with the caption: ‘The last dance,’ on X, formerly known as Twitter, ahead of their side’s clash with Aston Villa.”

This phrase, which refers to the well-known sports documentary about retired basketball star Michael Jordan’s comeback to the NBA, is frequently used to describe a person’s final sporting performance or attempt to win.

“Many Palace supporters were left wondering if the sale of their No. 7 was imminent or if it was just coincidental that it was hinted at, as the post was quickly removed.”

With the Premier League season drawing to a close tomorrow and the English domestic one with the FA Cup final in seven days, the transfer rumours swirling around Olise will only grow in magnitude as we creep into June.
