Despite acknowledging that Lundstram’s dismissal was justified under the laws of the game, Miller repeatedly contested the decision across various media platforms, including live appearances on Sky Sports and BBC Radio Scotland, and in his column for the Daily Record.

Lundstram’s challenge on Celtic’s Alistair Johnston was marked by high studs and a lack of control, posing a serious risk of injury.

Referee pundit Conroy criticised Miller’s stance, expressing disbelief at the attempts to defend the indefensible. He stated on Behind the Whistles,

Conroy also commended the match officials for their handling of the situation, noting that referee Willie Collum made the right call after reviewing the incident multiple times. He stated on Behind the Whistles“Well, I can certainly say I’m not in Kenny Miller’s camp for those comments.

“I understand why as an ex-player you think that you can try and defend one of your colleagues.

“That’s indefensible. That is totally indefensible. That is a red card every day of the week.

“He’s come through high, he’s come through at speed. He is endangering the safety of the opponent.

“That is ticking all the boxes for red cards.

“That’s a red card every day of the week. And I will say one thing. Steven McLean was absolutely correct to get involved and to tell Willie that it was a red card.”

The right decision was reached after VAR’s intervention.

As Sutton said at the Player of the Year awards on Sunday, Kenny Miller is the only person on the planet to not think that the tackle deserved a red card.
