The Premier League has announced the date of the fixture announcement for the upcoming season.

On Tuesday, June 18, at 9 a.m., the Premier League will disclose the schedule for Newcastle United’s 37 remaining games as well as the opponents they will face on the first day of the upcoming season. That date, which sees the Magpies play Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, is just than a month after their season ends.

The 2024/25 Premier League season will get underway on Saturday 17 August and run until Sunday 25 May. There will be no games on Christmas Eve, nor will there be a mid-season ‘winter break’ as has been implemented in recent seasons. There will be 33 weekends of action, four midweek rounds and a bank holiday set of fixtures with details on those to be released in due course.

This season started off well for Eddie Howe’s team as they crushed Champions League-chasing Aston Villa 5-1 at St. James’ Park. Sandro Tonali, who can play starting in Newcastle’s third league match of the season and beyond, Callum Wilson, Harvey Barnes, and Alexander Isak all scored goals to secure an outstanding start to the season.

With West Brom, Norwich City, Leeds United, and Southampton vying for the final promotion position in the play-offs, Leicester City and Ipswich Town have already been promoted to the Premier League. In the Premier League, Burnley’s fate was determined on Saturday, while Sheffield United has already been demoted. After just one season in the top division, Luton Town is all but relegated and expected to accompany them back to the Championship.
