In the summer, the 24-year-old can be transferred for free.

Ben Johnson, a defender for West Ham, and Rangers are allegedly in negotiations regarding a summer transfer.

The 24-year-old right-back’s contract expires in the summer, so the Gers will try to convince him to sign with them. He has played over 100 games for the Hammers since 2017. Included in the team that won the European Championships the previous year was the former England under-21 international.

This summer at Ibrox, Philippe Clement is anticipated to make a number of important roster changes, and according to The Athletic, he has already begun speaking with Johnson. But, Leeds and Crystal Palace are rumored to be interested in the youngster, so he could expect fierce competition. Wolves made a £1 million offer that West Ham turned down.

This season, the Englishman has made 22 appearances for David Moyes’ squad, 14 of which have been in the Premier League.

Though James Tavernier said he would be staying for a testimonial year, it comes amid rumors Steven Gerrard is planning an Al-Ettifaq double swoop for Connor Goldson and James.

With Dujon Sterling being utilized in a variety of other roles, signing Johnson as a little competition might still be an option, even if the captain stays with the Rangers for the upcoming season.
