West Ham keen on 27-year-old soon-to-be free midfielder

A number of Premier League teams are closely monitoring Wilfred Ndidi’s situation as he prepares to depart Leicester City.

West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Tutto Juve are reportedly among the teams monitoring Wilfried Ndidi. When his contract expires in the summer, the 27-year-old midfielder will be free to join other Premier League teams, sensing their chance to sign him.

Premier League trio keen on Wilfred Ndidi

Over the years, Wilfred Ndidi has been a huge asset for Leicester City, and he has been crucial to their success in the Championship this year. With everything in their control ahead of the final stretch of the domestic season, the Foxes are fiercely competing for a spot in the automatic promotion zone.

Irrespective of their fate for next season, the Foxes are set to lose a number of their experienced stars, including 27-year-old soon-to-be free midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. The defensive star will leave the club at the end of his deal in the summer, with a host of Premier League sides including West Ham United, Everton and Crystal Palace keen.

The English trio are eager to bring the experienced midfielder to their sides, as they are keen to build squad depth in that area. For Everton, it might be the case of replacing Amadou Onana rather than adding to their squad. West Ham’s case might be different, as they are certainly looking to add depth and could view Ndidi as someone to replace Kalvin Phillips.

Cheick Doucoure, a Malian player who is expected to become a major target for elite clubs, could possibly leave Crystal Palace. The 27-year-old Ndidi’s price point is a significant factor in the interest that has been shown in his services; clubs will be mindful of their PSR responsibilities and want to sign this cheap player as quickly as possible.

Ndidi is another one that Leicester will lose

Tottenham and Newcastle United are also interested in Ndidi, and the midfield player may be one of the many that Leicester has lost over the years. The Foxes were formerly commended for their successful transfer strategy, which allowed them to buy a large number of up-and-coming players then sell them for huge returns.

They have recently lost a number of players for free or at a reduced cost, with Youri Tielemans being the most prominent name in this discussion. When the summer transfer window rolls around, the Foxes risk losing both Ndidi and fellow countryman Kelechi Iheanacho on free transfers. This would add to the long list of crucial players that the team has struggled to manage over the years.
