Everton stance on Sean Dyche sack revealed ahead of relegation six-pointer vs Nottingham Forest

Everton supporters have had a demanding season as their team is involved in yet another relegation struggle following the Premier League’s contentious eight-point deduction.

The Toffees, who haven’t been dropped since 1951, have only barely managed to stay in the top three this season after missing the drop the previous two seasons.

Their predicament is mostly due to the eight points they were docked for violating the PL’s profit and sustainability regulations twice; otherwise, safety would have been virtually guaranteed by now.

But Everton is currently experiencing a terrible run of results—they have only won one of their previous 15 league games—which has prompted some supporters to demand Sean Dyche be fired.

This would arguably be the worst time in the club’s history to go down, too, with a takeover by American firm 777 Partners dragging on in the background and the building of their new stadium costing much more than initially expected.

The former Burnley boss guided the Toffees to safety on the final day of last season but it’s fair to say that if Everton hadn’t been through so many managers in the past few years and their financial situation was more stable, it’s likely that Dyche would have been removed by now.

Sean Dyche faces a crucial few weeks as Everton boss

iNews claims that even with the increasing pressure on Dyche, the Everton manager’s position is “under no threat” despite the team’s dismal performance.

This is because, considering their play in the previous two seasons, the Toffees “already would have been safe” in the absence of their point deductions.

Not to mention that Everton still has a lot of control over their own destiny. As previously indicated, they play Nottingham Forest on Sunday, who are one spot below them in the standings and fellow point deductees.

The Merseyside team still has home games against struggling teams Brentford and Sheffield United as well as an away match at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town.

Recovering from their 6-0 loss to Chelsea on Monday won’t be simple, though.

Everton may have to look again at Dyche’s situation should they lose to Forest, but given the fact that their owner Farhad Moshiri is in the process of selling the club, it’s unclear whether he’d be willing to pay the money required to sack him anyway.

In the next weeks, it will be intriguing to see how this tale plays out, but for now, Everton supporters will have to hope that the English manager can make a swift turnaround.
