According to Matt Piper, a former winger for Leicester City, if the Foxes keep losing at the conclusion of the season, they don’t deserve to be promoted to the Premier League.

Leicester lost 1-0 at to struggling Plymouth Argyle on Friday night, incurring yet another setback.

It was their second straight loss in the league, and if Leeds United and Ipswich Town win this weekend, they would both have passed them in the Championship rankings.

Leicester may have to fight for promotion in the playoffs after appearing set to win the league and rise back to prominence at key periods during the season.

Piper emphasized that if Leicester keeps losing games, there is no use in complimenting their playing approach.

The former Foxes winger admitted that if they do not pick themselves up soon, Leicester do not deserve to get promoted.

He said on BBC Radio Leicester: “It’s no good anymore praising this team for playing attractive football between both penalty areas because they keep losing football matches.

“The longer you keep doing that, you have to say, you don’t deserve to go back up to the Premier League.

“It’s alright leading the way the whole season but when it comes to the business end, you just totally flop and the wheels fall off.

“That’s how it feels at the minute.”

When Leicester plays West Brom at the King Power Stadium one week from now, they’ll be itching to get back to winning ways.
