Fashion Sakala Jnr of Rangers celebrates his goal with his team mates during the Scottish Premiership match at Fir Park, Motherwell.

If Rangers defeat Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, April 7, they will go a long way toward winning the Scottish Premiership.

It doesn’t really matter if the Bears had a bad history versus Celtic in recent years. Rangers cannot simply afford to lose this game since it is a new one.

After a terrible start, they were never in the running for the championship, but Philippe Clement has given them the confidence to rally. With a game remaining, the Gers are only one point behind their fiercest rivals. They can lose the title if they win this tie.

You frequently need someone who can grasp the game by the scruff of the neck in big matches like this one. According to Keith Jackson, John Lundstram can have a significant impact, but players like Jack Butland, Connor Goldson, and James Tavernier will need to maintain their concentration.

Todd Cantwell, according to Jackson, is one Rangers player that can be relied upon to win the game. Although the 23-year-old has occasionally faced criticism from commentators, he has the potential to be the game-winning player.

James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, and Jack Butland at the back will all need to be alert. In midfield, John Lundstram might be the difference. However, Todd Cantwell will win it if the Rangers win, Jackson stated in the Daily Record (page 51).

Todd Cantwell could become the hero for Rangers on Sunday

Cantwell has managed five goals and four assists in 23 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season. The 26-year-old winger has all the tools to influence a big game, but he hasn’t done that at Rangers yet. This could be his biggest moment.

Rangers have struggled to hold on to their nerves and keep the basics right in this fixture in recent meetings. They have been shambolic at the back and Clement needs to address this. It is equally important to stay resolute at the back and maintain a tight defensive shape.

The Bhoys have not been able to hit the dizzy heights but they can hurt anyone on their day. Rangers have a great opportunity to take control of their destiny in their own hands, and Cantwell could become the new hero at Ibrox.
