Vinnie Jones has revealed how Sir Elton John offered to “break the bank” to get him to join the Hornets.

On his brand-new podcast, Football, Music, and Me, the actor and former professional football player chatted with former Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves.

Jones revealed how the pop legend and former Hornets manager “tried everything” to convince him to join the team while he was a player at Wimbledon in the episode that will air today, April 4.

“But if I had gone to Watford, I wouldn’t have won the FA cup.”

The actor was raised in Bedmond and began his playing career with the local team. Later, he signed with Leeds United, Chelsea, and Queens Park Rangers, among other teams.

However, he disclosed that he has remained true to his roots: “I still support Watford, as does my entire family.”

“I go to all the games when I’m here.”

After leaving the world of football, Jones made his name appearing in gangster films, such as Guy Ritchie’s 1998 hit Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
