As their unbeaten streak grows, the dominant Bundesliga leaders may soon pass Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles.

Unstoppable Bayer Leverkusen is getting closer to matching Celtic’s illustrious 42-game winning streak.

The unbeaten German team in all competitions, the Bundesliga leaders, just overtook Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich class of 2020 and 2021 in the record books. With 38 straight games played without a loss, Xabi Alonso’s explosive team is relentlessly chasing their first-ever top-flight championship.

On the verge of a historic season, the Treble-chasing Germans also have matches against West Ham in the Europa League quarterfinals and Düsseldorf in the DFB-Pokal Cup semifinals. Their outstanding play has propelled them into the elite group of European top ten league clubs with the longest unbeaten streaks in all competitions since 2000.

And now, if they win their next five games, which begin in the league today against Hoffenheim, they might surpass Brendan Rodgers’ treble-winning Invincibles of 2016–17. Just one game behind Italian powerhouse Juventus, the Celtics have the second-longest run. Football Scotland examines the top 10 longest winning streaks across all competitions since the year 2000, aided by our friends at Transfermarkt.
