After a three-week break, Crystal Palace will return to Premier League action when they visit City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

After three games in charge, Oliver Glasner has managed just one victory. Prior to the international break, Palace faced Luton Town at Selhurst Park and came away with a 1-1 tie.

The Eagles’ injury problems this season have been very sad. They have lost important players like Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, and Cheick Doucoure at different stages this season, which has had an impact on their output.

Olise has resumed training, although Glasner has stated before to the game that it is too soon for him. Players who are making good progress, like Guehi and Doucoure, might make a comeback before the season is out.

Odsonne Edouard and Matheus Franca, two of Crystal Palace’s top attackers, will also be absent for the trip to Nottingham Forest. Edouard had a “strange” injury in Marbella while at the mid-season training camp.

“They’re not available,” said Glasner, as quoted by London News Online.

“Odsonne is already on the pitch now and working on his rehab.

“It was a strange situation because he was sliding as a striker in training and he pressed his knee into the ground. It’s not that serious and he could be back the week after next with the team.”

The 26-year-old striker has scored six Premier League goals in 17 starts for the Eagles, and Glasner will be demanding more effort from him. He started in the 3-0 win over Burnley but has been dropped to the bench in the next two games.

Franca picked up a groin injury in the previous game against Luton and Glasner has confirmed that the Brazilian feels the pain whenever the intensity of training increases.

Earlier this week, Palace have suffered a massive blow after Sam Johnstone picked up an elbow injury. He is definitely out for the rest of the season and also doubtful for the Euro 2024.
