Jarrad Branthwaite leaving Everton for Manchester United “makes sense” and he could replace Raphael Varane at Old Trafford, Gabriel Agbonlahor has suggested.

The former Aston Villa striker believes the Toffees centre-back would be the ideal replacement for the World Cup winner Varane and potentially even Lisandro Martinez, who has missed much of the campaign through injury.

The Telegraph has stated that Man United is interested in signing Branthwaite and a striker before the summer transfer window opens.

Agbonlahor remarked in a live broadcast on talkSPORT on Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 a.m.: “It just makes sense, doesn’t it? Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool all seem to have their center backs covered.

“Observe Manchester United.” Martinez: this season has been full of injuries. Maguire isn’t well-known, but I believe he does a fantastic job.

My guess is Branthwaite. He possesses the poise, quickness, and ferocity. Varane will follow suit. He won’t be offered a new contract by them. He seems to blend well in, in my opinion.

Could Manchester United win Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton this summer?

Obviously, despite the considerable interest from major European teams, every Everton supporter will be trying to hold onto their star center back this summer.
The price tags being considered for Branthwaite could help relieve some of the burden, especially in light of the Toffees’ recent financial difficulties as a result of being penalized for violating the Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Money won’t be as much of a concern if 777 Partners can successfully take over Goodison Park, though; the last consideration will be whether Everton can finish in the Premier League this year.

The Toffees are fighting relegation for the third successive campaign, battling against the likes of Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Brentford to stay safe in the top tier of English football.

Being exiled to the Championship would all but confirm Branthwaite’s exit from the club. And as Agbonlahor has highlighted, Man United would certainly benefit from a youngster of his calibre.

Only time will tell what will happen amid the Branthwaite saga at Everton. Until the summer transfer window closes ahead of the 2024/25 season, the 21-year-old’s future will remain uncertain.
