Georginio Rutter has failed to make an impact since becoming Leeds United’s record acquisition in January, but the youthful forward has started the last three games under Daniel Farke.
Daniel Farke believes that hard effort is the ‘one option’ for Georginio Rutter’s Leeds United career to take off. The record signing has had a difficult start to life at Elland Road, making only 18 games since his January arrival and frequently being overlooked amid the Whites’ relegation battle.
However, Farke has given the France under-21 international a recent run in the starting eleven, and he scored in Leeds’ sole league win of the season thus far against Ipswich Town. When asked how he had rebuilt Rutter’s confidence, the Whites manager instead advised the forward to concentrate on all elements of his game while appraising his attackers following a goalless home stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday.
“There is always only one solution: hard work,” Farke told reporters. It’s not so much about psychological games as it is about working hard to get yourself into a really excellent fitness level and concentrating on the performances because it never works if you’re simply playing with ‘I have to score, I have to score’ and putting yourself under pressure. It’s more like, ‘no, concentrate on being a really good teammate, linking the play well, working well against the ball,’ and then goals come naturally.
