Dr Rajpal Brar believes that verton is not going to play cautiously with Jordan Pickford in order to save him for EURO 2024.
In response to suggestions that the England number one should be wrapped in cotton wool to prevent injuries before the competition, the injury specialist has responded.
Although there are a few precautions he may take, it is exceedingly unlikely given the relegation struggle.
Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar, who spoke exclusively to Goodison News, stated the following regarding Pickford:
“Goalkeeper position obviously isn’t as purely physical as other spots but you can still tell them to err on the side of caution when it comes to 50/50 balls or not put themselves into high risk situations where their defenders could more easily get rid of danger.
“Further, if there are certain opponents who tend to be more physical on corners and set pieces, you may employ different strategies.
“You cannot obviously eliminate the risk of injury and given Everton’s fight against relegation, it’s likely going to be intense until the end.”
Pickford has been exceptional for Everton and England
Pickford has been one of the Three Lions’ top performers, therefore it has been strange that his role for England has come under scrutiny.
He has performed exceptionally well at three international tournaments and will be the number one at Euro 2024.
In addition, he has been a huge asset to his team, and Sean Dyche is obviously delighted to have him starting in goal for his team.
