The Premier League’s Crystal Palace is among the teams interested in Athletic Bilbao’s Alex Berenguer, a winger.

His current contract is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign, and according to Spanish publication AS, the Spanish club is having difficulty coming to an agreement with him on a new one.

According to the source, the Spaniard has not accepted any of the club’s proposals thus far, and there is a good possibility that he will go on a free transfer during the next transfer window.

According to the report, Wolves, Brentford, and Crystal Palace have all “taken notice” of the player’s current circumstances and are thinking about making a move in the summer.

Since joining Athletic Bilbao in 2020, the 28-year-old has made 159 appearances for the team in all competitions, contributing 19 assists and 27 goals. In 26 La Liga games this season, he has 6 goals and 2 assists.

He is a flexible attacker who can play as a second striker or on the right wing, however his primary position is left wing.

Given that Eberechi Eze is anticipated to leave Palace in the summer, Alex Berenguer might prove to be a suitable substitute.
