Chris Sale thinks the recent move made by the Atlanta Braves is underappreciated.

Probably the biggest surprise that Alex Anthopoulos pulled off this past off-season was Chris Sale joining the Atlanta Braves. Additionally, Atlanta supporters appear to be most enthusiastic about this purchase. Chris Sale, nevertheless, believes that the addition of the Braves’ most recent player might have a significant impact.

Sale’s response to the Braves signing Adam Duvall, a teammate from last season in Boston, was covered by Gabe Burns.

The salary for Duvall for this one-year contract is $3 million. Chris Sale views Duvall’s prior Braves experience as a major plus, knowing that the Braves organization has a particular way of doing things both on and off the field.

In 2024, Adam Duvall will start his eleventh Major League Baseball season, his third with the Atlanta Braves. Chris Sale also brought up Adam Duvall’s consistency.

Duvall has one All-Star appearance in his career along with a Gold Glove Award. For his career, Duvall has a .232 batting average with 184 home runs and 536 runs batted in. Atlanta can expect a low average, high power season from Adam Duvall at the plate regardless of the role he is in.

Most likely, Duvall will see limited playing time with Kelenic, Acuna, and Harris holding down the outfield. However, Adam Duvall could also serve as the Braves’ DH when matchups call for it or comfortably replace any of the three starting outfielders in the unfortunate event of injury.

With Chris Sale’s impressive career and playing with many great players, the praise he gives Adam Duvall should be recognized. Another power bat like Adam Duvall joining this already insanely talented lineup should excite Braves fans, even if it is not an everyday occurrence. The bench is strengthened when he doesn’t start, and the team will not miss a beat when he is in the lineup.
