Under Philippe Clement, Rangers are dominating a number of competitions, and the Belgian is doing a fantastic job in the dugout.

The manager’s momentum at Ibrox, however, is about to be derailed since international football comes back this month.

Winger Rabbi Matondo is one player who won’t have far to travel over the break; he was recently added to the Wales team for their matchup with Finland in the Euro 2024 play-off semifinal at Cardiff City Stadium.

Nevertheless, despite Matondo’s Ibrox teammate Tom Lawrence’s incredible run of play, manager Rob Page has chosen not to consider the 30-year-old.

Lawrence has been a “key” player under Clement lately, according to the Daily Record (March 13). He has scored against teams like Benfica in the Europa League and Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers ace Tom Lawrence will be disappointed by Wales snub

His time at Ibrox has been plagued by injury, but he is now back on the pitch and really impressing in blue.

Remarkably, Page has decided to select former Rangers man Aaron Ramsey, despite the midfielder’s recent knee injury.

Given his importance to the Wales squad, such a selection is understandable, but the Lawrence admission is a mistake from the man in the dugout.

The Ibrox ace is in fine form and is also versatile, and could have represented a great option for the nation later this month, either from the start or from the bench.

The fact that Lawrence won’t be facing an injury while representing his country this season will soothe Clement, even though the player himself will be unhappy by the rejection.

In other Rangers news, a young player’s Gers debut is imminent due to a Borna Barisic rivalry claim.
