Wilfred Ndidi’s contract at Leicester City ends at the end of the current campaign, and it is apparently “planned” by Galatasaray to sign him.

The midfield player’s current King Power Stadium contract expires in June, and it is unclear how he will continue to play for the team. Since joining City from KRC Genk in 2017, Ndidi has appeared in more than 260 games.

Enzo Maresca, the manager of City, has stressed that talks regarding the contracts of players who are not under contract would begin as soon as Leicester’s league standing is verified. As of right now, the Foxes are leading the Championship standings and are expected to return to the Premier League right away.

Ndidi was the target of summer attention from Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich, but he chose to stay at Leicester and contribute significantly to Maresca’s team. The Nigerian international has played a more advanced role this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

It has been rumored that Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray are showing interest in Ndidi. Rekindling their interest in the 27-year-old, Gala is ‘planning’ to take advantage of Ndidi’s contract dilemma at Leicester, according to A Sport.

According to the Turkish source, they intend to bring Ndidi to Rams Park and use European soccer as leverage to persuade him to sign. With nine games left, Galatasaray leads the Super Lig and has a 29-point lead in the Champions League berths.

Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League is likely to be the only way that Ndidi stays at the King Power Stadium. Even then, the Foxes’ financial struggles could limit their hopes of retaining the versatile midfielder.
