This weekend, Crystal Palace have a serious opportunity to rid themselves of any relegation threat with a win against Luton Town.

Oliver Glasner will be looking to make it two victories out of three as he gets his Crystal Palace team ready for his third game in the dugout.

Following a convincing 3-0 victory in the first game against Burnley, expectations were dampened by the 3-1 loss to Spurs.

Nevertheless, there is still a good chance that Glasner’s Eagles will defeat Luton at Selhurst Park.

As he does each week, Paul Merson has released his predictions before of the game. This is what he said:

“Palace have a bit more guile about them, so I’m going to give them the edge in this one. This is a game they [Luton] shouldn’t lose, but unfortunately, I think they will.”

Merson then named his prediction as a scoreline of 2-1 to Palace, something we imagine Glasner would take in a heartbeat if offered now.

Paul Merson predicts Crystal Palace vs Luton Town

Writing in his weekly predictions column on SportsKeeda, Merson has predicted Luton Town’s visit to Selhurst Park for Glasner’s second home game.

After the 3-0 thrashing two weeks ago, the Selhurst crowd will be expectant of a similar result, and while he isn’t predicting an easy afternoon, Merson has given Palace fans reason to be optimistic.

Beating Luton Town should all but secure Premier League survival

A win for Palace on Saturday afternoon would be a massive three points which could see them 11 points clear of Luton and surely too far to be caught.

On 31 points, Palace could be as high as 13th and closing the gap on the likes of Fulham and Chelsea just above them.

Therefore this game for the Eagles is a decider on how they’ll spend the final 10 games of the season, either in a battle for relegation survival or comfortably seeking to finish mid-table

With Merson often correct in his predictions, this is a game which should indeed see Palace claim the three points.
