Ibrahim Osman is expected to join Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer after an agreement was agreed with Danish team FC Nordsjaelland earlier this month.

A number of clubs had taken notice of the winger’s performances, and he was rumored to be leaving the Danish team in the winter transfer window.

Before reaching a deal with Brighton, other Serie A teams made offers to the 19-year-old. Salvatore Bagni, an Italian agent, told Tele A’s Si gonfia la rete—at least that’s what Area Napoli recounted.

Tipsbladet revealed on February 16th that Roberto De Zerbi’s team had to pay roughly €18 million for the young player’s contract. The “market operator” and former midfielder for Napoli and Inter believes Brighton spent more over €20 million for the Ghanaian.

Without revealing the details of the Italian clubs, Bagani states the transfer fee forced them to back out of the deal for the winger.

“I proposed an extraordinary footballer to several Italian teams, but none of them listened to me. I am referring to Ibrahim Osman, a footballer of just 19 years old. The attacker will strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton. A huge coup for the English club,” he said.

“I know they spent a lot of money, over €20m. Unfortunately, no team in Italy is willing to invest such a high sum for a very young player.”

It’s important to note that Bagani does not represent Osman, and he has disclosed that Brighton’s deal was handled by agent Mitch Bakkovens. It is customary for Bagani to act as an intermediary in Italian football.

Since joining Nordsjaelland in January 2023, Osman has contributed five assists and four goals.
