CoventryLive provides Coventry City transfer news as the Sky Blues are connected to a 25-year-old midfielder who will be available for free.
Three Championship teams are “interested” in Bulgarian international Andrian Kraev, including Coventry City, according to a report from a sports website located in Sofia.
According to an article on Sportal.bg, the Sky Blues are one of three English Championship teams “monitoring the situation” surrounding Levski Sofia, who will become a free agent in the summer once his contract expires, along with play-off rivals Hull City and mid-table Middlesbrough.
The 25-year-old is reportedly being forced to practice with the club’s reserves after being “removed” from the first team due to his refusal to sign a new deal. Additionally, it states that the player was absent from the team’s most recent training camp in Turkey. Carlos Ohene, a defensive midfielder from Ghana who signed in January, is said to have been brought in as a replacement and has been wearing Kraev’s number eight shirt.
Kraev, who is 6ft 3 inches tall, is primarily a holding midfielder but can play further forward in an attacking role, and his stats show that he’s scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 109 matches for the club since signing from Heber in 2020.
Despite adding Victor Torp during the most recent transfer window, Coventry’s midfield is undoubtedly lacking in players, and when Liam Kelly is scheduled to go at the conclusion of his contract in the summer, the squad will be much smaller. It is also anticipated that Callum O’Hare will leave on a free transfer.
